Striking portraits of Members of One of America's Most Violent Criminal Gangs

These photos were taken in a Salvadoran prison.
MS-13 members come from the poorest and most marginalized segments of El Salvador's society. All of them are covered with tattoos. The prison, which holds about 2,600 prisoners, is designed to accommodate only 800 people. It is guarded by the army.
