By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/street-portraits-of-americans-by-mike-peters.htmlMike Peters has been a staff photographer at the University of New Jersey since 2000. Previously, he shot photo reports for newspapers and magazines. Throughout his professional career, Peters has always worked in parallel on personal projects in which he expressed himself and presented his own style. Most often, he prefers to shoot street portraits in a square format on color film.
"I believe that all photographs should establish a connection so that the viewer can feel something familiar or imagine a story about the frame. Photographing people is the biggest and most interesting task. Whether I shoot directly without asking or collaborate with the subject, my goal is to find a spontaneous moment for the portrait, rich in visual cues that will touch your imagination," says Mike Peters.
