This stirring and squeaking spot turned out to be 1,000 chickens that were only a day old — they were left to die in an open field. The person who found them immediately contacted the Royal Society for the Protection of Animals from Cruelty (RSPCA).

When the RSPCA workers arrived at the scene, they were shocked. "I've never seen anything like it — it was like a yellow sea," said Inspector Justin Stubbs. The chickens were only a day old, they were very small and tender." Unfortunately, not all birds were lucky, some of them died. But the protection society saved most of the chicks.
An investigation was also launched and a search was launched for who left the animals to die. There are suggestions that the birds were taken from a commercial farm near the same field, but they have not been officially confirmed. At least most of the chickens are alive and well.
