Smooth as silk: The Afghan greyhound who became an Internet star

She has style and grace. She is an Afghan hound dog, which probably has more followers on social networks than ordinary mortals. And, looking at the five-year-old Ti, you understand why her photo has become an Internet sensation and has generated numerous memes.

The dog's owner Luke Kavanagh from Oyster Bay, USA, said that the whole family is enthusiastically following the ascent of their pet to fame. "We always thought she was too beautiful to hide at home," he says.

"Our weekend walks attract crowds. Ti pretends that she doesn't need attention, but she definitely likes it, like any supermodel," the host adds.

Ti had a successful career as a show dog, but since her formal "retirement" her popularity has only been growing. This photo has been shared more than a million times, and various websites, blogs and Twitter pages have used this image.

The Kavanagh family was discouraged by the popularity of this particular photo. Luke thinks there's nothing special about her.

"I just took it off one day after bathing. It seems to me that Ti attracted the audience due to the silky wool combined with the proud look that she likes to take, but it's just Ti in her usual way. Instagram Facebook and Instagram kept coming across this picture, people marked me in posts or sent me messages saying "look, your photo was stolen again" or "someone is using your photo to sell their products"," says the dog's owner.

Luke Kavanagh was even approached by several companies with a proposal to use Ti to present products, and the dog began the second round of his career, this time as an animal actor.

Ti has already starred in an online campaign and television commercials for Harriot and Hounds dog spirits, and is also the "muzzle" of Royal Canin premium pet food. According to the owner of the dog, the additional income turned out to be a pleasant surprise, but it is not enough for him to stop working altogether. He added that now the dog is resting from exhibition activities and they do not plan to conquer Hollywood in the near future.

Luke Kavanagh continues to participate in dog shows with his other pets — Staffordshire Terriers.
