On the May holidays, Jack - a 4-meter conical tower covered with greenery with a human head on top - is driven through the central streets of the city for three hours. At this time, Jack is accompanied by a cheerful company of the most incredible characters, including all kinds of goblin, brownies, fairies, etc. The procession ends at the top of the hill with Jack's "murder". This is how the people of Hastings celebrate summer.
In his deep and penetrating photo project "Jack in the Green", English photographer Morgan Silk captured this strange but interesting world of "green myths". In May 2013, more than 8,000 people came to the celebration. Morgan filmed these fun characters in his studio against a plain gray backdrop to make each character's personality and brilliance stand out even more.
