By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/sexy-blogger-suspects-instagram-moderators-of-blackmail.htmlA well-known Instagram blogger has become a victim of an anonymous extortionist, but at the same time she is almost sure that he is somehow connected with a popular social network. First, someone deleted her posts, and then she received a message from an extortionist who demanded to pay him for the safety of the pictures in the account. Journalists took up the investigation and it seems that the girl is not making it up.
American blogger and streamer Caitlin Siragusa, known online under the nickname Amouranth, has a pretty impressive audience. 1.2 million people have subscribed to her Twitch channel, 250 thousand subscribers follow her YouTube video blog, and Caitlin has more than 1.6 million friends on Instagram.
Of course, such a popular person as Siragusa could not sooner or later not attract the attention of intruders. An anonymous blackmailer demanded to pay him so that the Instagram account would not be thoroughly cleaned and then blocked.
The story of communication with extortionists, Caitlin told the journalists of the Huffington Post. According to the girl, before the first letter from anonymous, posts were deleted from her page, allegedly for violating the rules of the service, or rather, for publishing pornography.
The moderator sent an official notification about the deletion of the photo and warned that if such content was re-published, her account would be blocked. The problem is that although Caitlin likes to show her body, all her publications look decent and do not violate the rules of Instagram. The most outspoken of all the pictures deleted by the moderator was a photo of a blogger in a striped swimsuit by the pool.
Facebook Instagram Four days after the removal of several photos and stories, the girl received a letter from an unknown person who introduced himself as an employee of Cognizant, responsible for the moderation of posts on Facebook and Instagram. Anonymous offered to protect the account from deleting publications and being banned for an appropriate reward.
For this, the blackmailer asked for 0.25 bitcoins per month, which is approximately 170 thousand rubles. Anonymous signs as Tampa, using the name of the city in Florida where Cognizant's office is now located. The girl did not respond to the first letter in any way, as she decided that one of the users was simply complaining about her posts to the administration and was seeking their removal.
However, very soon Caitlin became convinced that the anonymous person was not bluffing. After deleting the next photos from Instagram, he indicated the exact time when they were exposed. It is known that the time of publication is not displayed in the social network, but only the date. Of course, there are ways to find out the publication time manually, but they do not work with deleted posts.
Facebook Instagram belongs to Facebook, Siragusa asked her agent to contact the company and discuss the problem. But neither the representative of the blogger, nor she herself, during a 20-minute telephone conversation, could not get a clear answer from the managers of the social network.
But the girl found out that her posts were deleted completely legally. Facebook representatives explained that the photo in a bikini by the pool was deleted due to the fact that the girl holds her hand to her chest. According to the company's representatives, all photos were deleted not after user complaints, but after processing by the artificial intelligence of the platform.
Now journalists are considering two versions — either something is being left out on Facebook, or a certain Tampa is a maniacally patient fraudster who has been staring at the girl's page for months. One way or another, but Caitlin's posts continue to disappear, and she herself regularly receives two-week publication bans.
The girl is firmly convinced that the blackmailer is directly related to the management of Instagram. Now she is sure that not only ordinary users, but also top bloggers with millions of audiences, such as her, cannot resist the arbitrariness of site administrators.
By the way, Amouranth is not really the only victim of Instagram moderators. Other popular bloggers of the social network also have problems with publications.
