1. Monument to the hedgehog in the fog

Who among us has not watched the cartoon "Hedgehog in the Fog"? And in 2009 in Kyiv, at the intersection of Zolotovorotskaya, Reytarskaya and Georgievsky lanes, a monument was erected to this character forever living in memory. Seeing a hedgehog live with a bundle in his hand and looking up is very nostalgic.

2. Cemetery of tanks

Have you ever seen a cemetery of real military equipment? Multi-ton monsters made of iron, which once inspired fear and horror, could not defeat the eternal companion of man - irrationality. Most of the pieces of equipment placed here are inoperative, but still cost a lot of money. However, this does not prevent them from pointlessly rusting in the open. According to eyewitnesses, when looking at this army of unassembled cars, it seems that they are only dozing in anticipation of something. Those who like to look at everything from a minimum distance will not like the fact that the object is secure: it is guarded by the military with weapons and dogs, so you will have to admire the tanks and other equipment through a low fence.

3. Coffeebus

The retro atmosphere and fragrant coffee is the secret of an unusual Kyiv coffee house called Coffeebus. The restaurant is located in a 1963 bus, the walls of which are pasted over with old newspapers and decorated with postcards and badges with Soviet symbols. Jazz sounds in Coffeebus, and its menu includes all kinds of coffee, from latte to ice coffee. All this creates such a friendly atmosphere that the institution even has a tradition of “hanging coffee”.

4. Flying Deli

There is an aviation museum in Kyiv, notable not only for the number of exhibits presented in it, but also for their uniqueness. For example, there is the first Tu-104 built here with serial number 001, and the museum's collection also contains the MiG-25, the record holder for climbing altitude. His record of 37 kilometers has not been broken to this day, but all thanks to the cunning solutions used in the design. As a cooling system (in flight at such an altitude, the fuselage warmed up to hundreds of degrees), a design was used that worked on 200 liters of a water-alcohol mixture. It is for this feature that the plane was nicknamed the flying deli.

5. Trolleybus Ticket Museum

This is probably one of the most unknown Kyiv museums, although it is simply impossible to doubt its uniqueness. The fact is that this is, in fact, the only museum in which a collection of tickets for travel from 27 countries of the world is collected. For all future visitors, it is important to know one interesting subtlety: if you bring a travel ticket with you, which is not yet in the collection, you can get 0.5 delicious beer :)

6. Pinchuk Art Center

In 2006, the PinchukArtCentre, an international art center for the 21st century, was founded through the efforts of the Victor Pinchuk Foundation. The museum is located in the ancient Kiev district - the Bessarabian quarter - and covers an area of more than 3000 sq.m. The Pinchuk Art Center is a place where youth and talent meet. A new look at our life reflects the work of young (and sometimes still unknown) artists. Every year, the museum is visited by thousands of art lovers and just curious tourists.

7. Pirogovo Museum-Park

National museums are a must-see for everyone who is interested in the culture and life of the country in which they arrived. Of course, we love to look at something beautiful, bewitching, impressive, unusual, but if you do not know the story behind the next subject of history, then the acquaintance will be superficial, and the impressions will be incomplete. The Pirogovo National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life is one of those places where you can not only see, but also learn the features of the formation and development of Ukrainian culture.

8. Children's art park

The landscape alley is one of the most unusual places in all of Kyiv, and the reason for this was the opening of an extremely original playground, called the Two Worlds art park. This is a composition of sculptures, divided into two categories, a bad and a good world, and the idea turned out to be so metaphorical that it is not always easy for adults to understand which world this or that object belongs to. Here, a poem placed at the entrance serves as a hint, which explains the meaning of the sculptures and the entire park as a whole.

9. Mamaeva Sloboda

All objects of Mamayeva Sloboda were created with the aim of using them in recreating living history, that is, as close as possible to their functional purpose, namely, to popularize and revive original folk traditions, customs, rituals, forgotten labor skills and crafts. Ukraine is a country of Cossacks, so "Mamayeva Sloboda" is essentially an installation of a real Cossack settlement of the 17th century. It is no coincidence that one of the first buildings that is found there is a khvigura, a signal tower made of barrels filled with resin. And this is just one of the most interesting objects - there are about 100 of them in the museum. It is simply impossible not to visit such a place.

10. Pagan idols

The largest pagan temple is located in the depths of Bald Mountain, not far from the Vydubychi metro station. Four three-meter-high idols adorn the clearing, which is gradually overgrown with other items of ancient Slavic decor, threatening to develop into a whole temple complex. Carved benches, animal heads and improvised columns are surprisingly well made. According to the locals, all these attributes of the pagan faith are built by volunteers, mainly from among the pagan communities existing in Ukraine. Also, a pagan idol can be seen on Starokievsky Hill.
