So if you can’t lose weight, it might not be your fault. There are so many images of delicious food around!
Scientists from the Lebanese American University invited 63 volunteers for an experiment. They were asked to look at photos of various appetizing foods for 15 minutes. The test subjects simply looked at appetizing hamburgers, crispy chips and cheese pizzas on social media.
After that, the scientists asked the participants about their impressions and desires. It turned out that people felt a pronounced hunger after such viewing. At the same time, if they looked not at pictures of tasty but unhealthy food, but at pictures of animals or landscapes, their appetite did not awaken.
Also, most of the participants in the experiment admitted something else. After looking at unhealthy food, they had a desire to try not the healthiest food. They wanted something salty, fatty or spicy. The result of the experiment fully confirmed the assumptions of psychologists and nutritionists.
It has long been noted that looking at photos of food causes a feeling of hunger and can affect a person's dietary preferences. Unfortunately, most often people tend to choose the most caloric options. The obtained result did not completely satisfy the representatives of science. They still have many questions about the mechanism of this phenomenon. Therefore, the study of the influence of images on culinary preferences will continue.
Creating "food porn" is a special art. And experienced photographers use many tricks to make the most ordinary food attractive and appetizing.
