Moreover, a special resort has recently opened in South Africa for those who want to feel the taste of life beyond, but at the same time have all the necessary amenities at hand, like Wi-Fi or heated floors.
And although the African hotel "Slums" was criticized to the nines, calling it one of the most tasteless and unrefined themed resorts of all time, anyone can change the comfort of ordinary five-star hotels to garbage huts and an outdoor toilet.

1. This miracle of the resort industry is located near Bloemfontein in South Africa. Managed by Emoya Luxury Hotel and Spa. And this resort looks ... like an ordinary slum.
2. The resort is made up of a dozen huts made of wood and corrugated metal sheets, but has amenities such as running water, electricity, geysers, and even underfloor heating and Wi-Fi.
3. To make your stay at this hotel not seem like a raspberry, the operators installed paraffin lamps, candles and battery-operated radios, as well as outdoor toilets.
4. Guests are advised to heat water by outdoor fires and sit by the common fire on chairs made of tires.
5. One night stay in these slums costs 82 dollars - slightly less than the average monthly salary in South Africa.
6. The theme resort was immediately criticized, with accusations and words like “hurtful”, “unrefined”, “tasteless” and “vulgar” raining down on him.
7. American political satirist Stephen Colbert called it "the pornography of the poor." But according to the resort owner, he is just trying to fill a gap in the market.
8. “Ordinary foreign tourists have repeatedly said that they want to sleep in real slums, and not just pass them by bus, as is usually the case in Cape Town and Soveto,” explains Bax Westraad.
