She resolutely destroys the standards of traditional beauty and motivates others to do the same.
The bright 24-year-old model, who now lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is not confused by her incredibly dark skin. "My blackness is elegant. After all, I represent a nation of warriors," the girl signed one of her many photos on Instagram, each of which collects more than 10 thousand likes.
Under another picture, she described in detail how an Uber driver once offered to "whiten" her skin, but she only laughed in response. "You won't believe the questions they ask me and how they look at me because of the color of my skin."
Nyakim is not only an ardent supporter of diversity in the fashion industry, but also a loud voice for the rights of African Americans around the world. She was even once called the "Queen of Darkness", but she gladly accepted this title. "Black is bold, black is beautiful, black is golden… Don't let American standards destroy your African soul. Love the skin you live in, no matter what color or shade it is."
Nyakim Gatweh, 24, made a splash in the fashion industry with her luxurious dark skin.
Once coal-black skin was the cause of the girl's complexes, and she even wanted to whiten it. But over time, Nyakim learned to love herself and accept the way nature created her.
Before success came to the model from South Sudan, her unique beauty was not so appreciated.
In 2016, an Uber driver advised a girl to whiten her skin, bearing in mind that her too black complexion is unattractive. She just laughed in response, because over time she fell in love with her bright appearance.
"I am often asked why I have such a strange skin color. What kind of nonsense — how can I answer this question? — the girl laughs. "Nature has blessed me with a huge amount of melanin, and I adore my darkness."
Nyakim now lives in Minneapolis, but she has always been active in support of blacks.
"You are more than beautiful, and my love for you is boundless, because you are me," the girl writes on her Instagram.
"Let's show the world how beautiful and smart we are, and not just dark-skinned."
The model has become popular, a huge number of people subscribe to her page on social networks every day: now she has more than 100 thousand followers on Instagram.
Nyakim still periodically receives unpleasant messages, but she continues to love herself for who she is.
She was even once called the "Queen of Darkness", and the girl gladly accepted this title.
"My skin absorbs the sun's rays, and my hair defies gravity. Am I not magical?"
