But if it was easy to shoot New York and Las Vegas, because these cities have clear borders, then with San Francisco was much more complicated: Lafora had to use the iconic bridges of the city as the main landmark. Nevertheless, the photos turned out to be more than exciting. Judge for yourself!
All photos were taken from a helicopter. For the "Air: San Francisco 7.2K" project, for example, Laforet climbed to an altitude of 7,200 feet (2,194 m) — hence the number in the name. (Vincent Laforet)
Laforet used the insurance to lean out of the helicopter and take these stunning pictures.
As a result, the photos of the California city at night were incredibly beautiful and colorful.
Shooting from a height allows Lafora to explore the unique patterns of each city (almost like fingerprints). "Ironically, you can see from the height how close we are to each other. Being in the sky, you find a new viewing angle for something ordinary. Interestingly, sometimes you can feel more intimacy from a height than from a distance of a few centimeters," says Laforet.
The famous Golden Gate Bridge looks no less amazing at night.
And here you can see the whole city at a glance.
Earlier, Vincent Laforet had already flown over Las Vegas, working with a similar photo project.
Here, for example, you can see the famous Las Vegas Strip with its iconic replica of the Eiffel Tower.
"Las Vegas is a city where the whole world is in one place," says Laforet.
"You can practically see electricity pouring through the whole city."
He also shot New York from a height.
Laforet flew over New York at an altitude of 2286 meters.
A clear plan and special clarity are needed for the flight, since they flew over airports, among other things.
In the photo taken with a shift lens, New York looks like a toy town.
And here is the author himself!
