Each of us has favorite photos, and it does not matter what they depict - a person close to our heart, a beautiful landscape or a cute four-legged pet. Even the photographers themselves, both professionals and amateurs, have a favorite shot. As they say, a photograph will replace a thousand words, but who can tell about it better than the one who took it? So, favorite shots through the eyes and words of photographers.

1. Romulo Rayon: “I was on a sea cruise in Walvis Bay, Namibia. Watched dolphins, seals, moonfish, cormorants, and didn't even think about taking pictures. But then the captain threw a piece of fish from the boat, and I was lucky to photograph this pelican just at the moment when he was catching it.

4. Luis Pires: “I was in Munich a couple of years ago, and my mother and sister came to me for a couple of days. We decided to "close our eyes" to the cold and slippery roads and go to Neuschwanstein Castle, located a few hours drive from the city. When we got there, we saw that the weather had cleared up and were rewarded with amazing winter scenery. Moreover, there were practically no tourists around, which could not but rejoice.”

5. Lola Akinmade Akerström: “I was traveling through Cambodia as a photojournalist for a non-profit organization and one day in Phnom Penh we decided to visit the world heritage site Wat Phnom with its elephant park and monkeys living there. I noticed that tourists feed the monkeys with snacks, fast food and sweet soda. One man approached this monkey and handed her a can of Fanta, and she began to drink it so greedily, as if it were the drink of the gods.

6. Alex Birkill: “This is one of my favorite photographs, mainly because of the persistence with which I tried to take it, and the delight when I finally got what I wanted. Vancouver doesn't get temperature inversions this often, but we had a few days in January, although the fog cleared by noon. I've been wanting to take a picture like this for a long time, so when I saw that the weather would be like this today, I knew this was my chance to make it happen."

7. Kevin Davis: “This is my favorite shot. I made it from a car in Kosice, Slovakia. The most surprising was the weather that we had to endure during the journey. A snowstorm with almost zero visibility formed in the city between two mountains. Then we drove through the tunnel right up the mountain on our way to Suha Bela, a popular hiking trail. As we pulled out of the tunnel and saw the blue sky, I gasped. From a snowstorm and zero visibility to complete clarity, it's amazing, plus I just couldn't help but take a photo of white trees against a blue clear sky."

9. Vasu Agarwal: “It took me a long time to make this picture perfect. My colleague agreed to take off his shirt on a cold February day in Dehradun, India. This is a light painting using a flashlight and a burning newspaper. In general, four people were needed to take this photo - two stood still, and two quickly ran with a flashlight and a newspaper.
