Old things have a special charm, although not all think so. But the photographer Kathy Dimoff from Portland from time to time looking at the flea market or second-hand old cameras, hoping to stumble on a long lost or forgotten treasure. And one day she was lucky — she found a picture in the Argus C2 camera, which had captured the catastrophic eruption of mount St. Helens in 1980.

Once discovered photographs have been published in the local newspaper, the Oregonian, a man named Melvin Purvis identified them — they belonged to his dead grandmother.

"I click on photos, start flipping and I see a picture of my wife, grandmother, son and myself," said the bewildered man.
