With an X-Acto knife and a chisel, he carves amazingly graceful shapes out of pencil leads. The results of his labors are like sculptures made of stone and burnt wood.
“I choose graphite because it is hard and brittle at the same time. You have to be very careful when working with it: a little distraction and it cracks,” says the sculptor.
