Many years have passed since then and they have almost disappeared from view. It was only known that Brittany and Abby trained as teachers and work as teachers at school. And now they remembered the sisters again, since Abigail got married. This happened back in 2021, but Hensel was told about it only now.
Abigail and Brittany Hensel were born on March 7, 1990. Their mother's pregnancy was normal and even an ultrasound did not show any abnormalities. Therefore, the birth of Siamese twins shocked both parents and medical staff. The sisters are connected to each other at the torso and each controls their side of the body. The sisters have two arms, two legs, two hearts, a common intestine and genitourinary system.
Even as children, while participating in various shows, Brittany and Abigail said that they dreamed of getting married and having children. It turns out that in 2021, one of the sisters partially fulfilled this dream and got married. The chosen one of 34-year-old Abigail was former military man and nurse Josh Bowling.
This is not the man’s first marriage. He was married for several years and has a child. Little is known about Bowling. On social media, he describes himself as "a Christian, a father, a husband, a veteran, and a bit of a gamer." The newlyweds, along with Brittany, settled in New Germany, Minnesota, where the Hensel sisters live and work.
This is a very unusual marriage, as legal Josh Bowling is only married to Abigail. But by force of insurmountable circumstances, Brittany also became a member of their family. Nothing was written about the wedding in the media, and only relatives and close friends of the newlyweds were present at the ceremony. Josh's daughter from his first marriage was also there. But everything went as expected - the bride even had a beautiful custom-made wedding dress.
As for their plans for the future, Abigail and Josh do not rule out having children. The Hensel sisters' reproductive system is fine and they can become mothers. Yes, that’s right, because women share the same circulatory system, and their DNA is completely identical.
Neurologist-psychotherapist Vahan Sargsyan, who has observed the sisters for many years, believes that it will be difficult to call only Abigail a mother:
Doctors believe that the sisters can give birth to a completely healthy child. Siamese twins are not the result of a genetic disorder. It’s just a matter of chance - the fertilized egg has not completely divided. The likelihood that the same will happen to their child is negligible.
