His Aurora Noir is one of the most famous projects in which the author combined the gangster style of the Prohibition era with bold science fiction. Razumovsky created a whole noir city inhabited by people and amazing machines that live, love and die, break the law and just do everyday things.
Tim Razumovsky was born in Kiev, but when he was only 5 years old, his family emigrated to Israel. The boy started drawing at the age of three, and at school he already surprised children and adults with his works. Since the first grade, Razumovsky attended drawing circles and devoted all his time to his favorite business.
The results were not long in coming – at the age of 10, Tim took first place at the All-Israel Children's Drawing Contest held in Tel Aviv. After that, the talented child was accepted to an art school, where he became the youngest student.
At art school, Razumovsky, who had previously preferred pencils, discovered oil and watercolor paints. The guy continued to improve as an artist even in the army, in which he served for three years.
Aurora Noir is Tim Razumovsky's first major project designed in a sci-fi style. When viewing digital pictures from this series, the viewer does not leave the feeling of cinematography – as if someone pressed pause and stopped the film. This effect was achieved by careful study of each scene – all of Tim's characters look very natural and alive.
The aesthetics of the Aurora Noir paintings are at a height – huge, gloomy, but incredibly beautiful buildings, unusual, fast cars, seductive women and stern men in suits and hats, and robots around them are amazing creatures made of metal. I want this world to come to life in a movie or at least in animation - few people would refuse such a spectacle.
And here's what the artist himself looks like:
