And that's just in a few days. The startup was supported by thousands of people who wanted to be among the first owners of the ring. Why was the project so popular? Especially for readers BiPpicture.ru the creators put everything on the shelves and accompanied it with a comment by Ekaterina Romanovskaya, the co-founder of the project, who personally experienced the need for such a gadget.

1. Alarm notification gadgets existed before Nimb. But few people managed to press the SOS button on their phone or bracelet during the attack. With Nimb, you can ask for help by pressing the alarm button on the inside of the ring with your thumb.

2. The idea of the project came to the entrepreneur Leonid Bereshchansky, who already had experience in developing a successful startup in the online education environment. The reason was the case of his friend, who was attacked near her house. The girl could not use the phone and the gas canister that were in her bag.

3. The ring itself and the software infrastructure — a cloud service and a mobile application — were developed by a team of engineers from Tomsk. It took more than a year to develop. During this time, two working prototypes were created.

4. During the Kickstarter campaign, co-founder and Communications Director of Nimb Ekaterina Romanovskaya shared her personal story, which only contributed to the success of the project. Almost 16 years ago, after an unsuccessful attempt at dating, a young man attacked her and inflicted multiple stab wounds.

5. The ring works in any part of the world — in the USA, Russia and other countries. You don't have to have a ring or even an app installed to receive an alarm. The signal will come in the form of a text message, a push notification (if the application is installed), an email and a call to your mobile.

7. In addition to relatives and friends, volunteers — members of the Nimb community and passers-by who happen to be nearby will respond to the signal. These are people who are ready to help and have downloaded the application.

8. Along with the signal comes information about who sent it. In your profile in the system, you can specify your blood type, the presence of diseases — diabetes, heart problems — or report that you are going to a "risky" event — a party with strangers, a blind date.

9. It is almost impossible to press the button accidentally. If this does happen, then do not panic: at the moment of pressing, the ring will vibrate, and the user will be able to cancel the call in the application within 20 seconds.

10. Thanks to the minimalistic and functional design, the ring will fit any clothing. It can be worn by both men and women. Nimb comes in two colors — white and black. The ring is quite large, and, according to the developers, this is for the best: criminals will know that the person is under guard.

The world is becoming more complex and interesting, connectivity and the speed of information transfer are gaining a huge role in the overall well-being. We came up with Nimb not just as an instant signal for help, but as an interaction tool where people with verified information make decisions and act — for the sake of saving not only those who are dear and close to them, but also strangers in trouble.
