Natural wonder — Hopewell Rocks in the Bay of Fundy

We present to your attention a selection of photos from the shores of the Bay of Fundy, near the Canadian city of Moncton (province of New Brunswick). These picturesque islands were formed as a result of water erosion, which for thousands of years was caused by sea tides. Large streams of water have formed a beautiful coastline of the bay. Powerful tides in the Bay of Fundy have formed a unique ecosystem: rocky cliffs, natural sandstone statues, an abundance of whales and dolphins, guinea pigs and other animals and birds.

Hopewell Rocks are located in the Bay of Fundy, in the northeast of the Gulf of Maine, which washes the shores of the USA and Canada.

The Bay of Fundy has the highest tides. Near the Hopewell rocks, the height of the tide can reach 16 meters.

At low tide , the water can recede to a distance of up to 5 km .

Twice a day, an amazing show is shown on the Bay of Fundy, incomparable with anything else in the world. Huge tidal waves carry into the bay as much water as all the rivers of the world contain.

At the entrance to the bay , the waves rise to a height of 16 m . This is an amazing sight, complemented by rip waves, seething rifts and violent whirlpools.
