By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/named-10-best-cities-to-live.htmlEconomist Intelligence Unit (EIU) experts presented the Global Liveability Ranking 2015, in which they assessed which city in the world has the best living conditions.
When compiling the ranking, they used 30 quantitative and qualitative indicators in five categories: stability, health, culture / environment, education and infrastructure. As a result, for each of these criteria, analysts gave a score from 1 (“unbearable”) to 100 (“perfect”) for each of the 140 cities participating in the rating.
In general, the top ten cities did not come as a surprise compared to last year's ranking.
Since this ranking does not use such a criterion as the cost of living, Global Finance analysts also took the results of other studies - Mercer Quality of Living Survey 2015 and Monocle's Quality of Life Survey 2015. They used data from all three rankings and compiled their own ranking of the top ten for city life.

Toronto
In 10th place was the largest city in Canada, Toronto. The city regularly ranks high in rankings for standards of living, cost of living, business environment, democracy, and food security. It is a city with an actively developing suburb. Although Toronto has the second largest public transit system in North America, traffic congestion remains a big problem for the more than 6 million people who commute to Toronto every day from the suburbs.
Berlin
9th place went to Berlin. Since the fall of the wall separating the city from the two world political systems, the German capital has earned a reputation as a technology hub where startups flock. At the same time, the city has a relatively low cost of living. Berlin is a city with an active nightlife and a high level of tolerance. There is amazing architecture, a lot of green spaces. The quality of life is at a very high level, while the atmosphere of life in Berlin is relaxed and calm.
Munich
Another German city ranked 8th in the ranking. The quality of life in Munich is at the highest level, but the cost of living is also rather high (even by German standards). The city has more than 20 large parks and a population of just over 1.3 million people. Green spaces give Munich the feel of a small town, even though the city is a major centre. There are no high-rise buildings in the city center, the public transport system works perfectly. The annual celebration - Oktoberfest - attracts many beer lovers from all over the world to Munich.
Tokyo
7th place went to Tokyo, which notes "a paradoxical blend of the vast size of the city and the constant feeling of peace and quiet." The population of the city is 13.3 million people, but it is convenient for all these people to live here. In particular, thanks to the developed public transport system (primarily the subway). Public transport is clean, safe and fast. Against the backdrop of haste and bustle, a sense of calm and purity is preserved, where ancient traditions coexist and are harmoniously woven into modern life. At the same time, the cost of living here is quite high, however, as well as salaries.
Auckland
New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, is ranked 6th. On par with its Australian rivals, Auckland boasts beautiful coves and beaches that are great for outdoor fun.
Zurich
5th place - in the Swiss Zurich. Two rivers flow through the city, and there is also a lake here, which creates a feeling of peace and serenity. This is a real center of art: Zurich has more than 50 museums and more than 100 art galleries. Zurich is a clean and well-run city. It scores highly for safety, no crime, few strikes, and no delays in public transport. At the same time, Zurich ranks 4th in the ranking of the most expensive cities.
Sydney
4th place - Sydney. It has great weather most of the year, lots of green spaces, beautiful beaches and great food. Sydney is Australia's largest city with 4 million people. The cost of living here is very high, but the cost of housing is still much lower than in other major metropolitan areas - New York, London and Hong Kong.
Melbourne
In 3rd place is another Australian metropolis - Melbourne. It is also home to 4 million people. The population is multinational and diverse. This is the culinary capital of Australia, there is a huge variety of national cuisines and cultural traditions.
Vancouver
Canadian Vancouver was ranked second. The weather here is great most of the time. This is a very green city, in which urban development has not been able to disturb the charm and beauty of nature. So, 1001 acres of Stanley Park not only limits the growth of the city, but also gives it charm. There are many other entertainment options here: museums, nightlife, restaurants and shopping opportunities. And although the cost of living is on average not very high compared to other cities in the world, housing here is quite expensive by Canadian standards.
Vein
Well, Vienna is recognized as the best city for life on Earth. With its beautiful architecture, castles, opera houses and cultural institutions, the capital of Austria is one of the favorite destinations for tourists from all over the world. It has a high employment rate and a low crime rate. The level of health care is also high, while the cost of housing is moderate. If we talk about the public transport system, then the fare is only 1 euro per day as part of an annual ticket.
