Landscape photography reminds us that we really do live in a beautiful world.

The judges chose from 4,504 entries from around the world, including photographs of a magical forest in Devon, crashing waves on the American west coast, and an Icelandic volcano shortlisted for 101 photographs.

The winner in the portfolio category was Turkish photographer Aytek Çetin. American photographer Tanmai Sapkal won the Best Single Image award for his shot of a comet above a hazy California landscape.

3. Dutch photographer Max Reeve's portfolio was awarded the Judges' Silver Medal. It includes this atmospheric painting of the village of Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland called "Mist Tales".

4. The second breathtaking shot from Reeve's portfolio, titled "The Fall", was taken in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in the French Alps.

5. This brilliant photo is by Andrea Zappia, who came in third in the portfolio category. An Italian photographer pointed his camera at the Horner Glacier near Zermatt, Switzerland for this shot.

6. Another impressive shot from Zappia's portfolio, this time showing Rocca la Mecha, a mountain in Piedmont, northern Italy.

7. Winner of the 2021 International Landscape Photography of the Year Award for Best Single Image. American photographer Tanmai Sapkal took this incredible photo on Mount Tamalpais in Marin County, north of San Francisco.

8. Captured by Cedric Tamani, this vibrant photo won second place in the Best Single Image category. The shot was filmed titled "The Drummers' Winter Dream" in Menzingen, Switzerland.

9. Here you will see Bonny Riverland Lake in South Australia, taken by Australian photographer Ben Hood. This impressive shot titled "Reflector" won third place in the Best Single Image category.

10. Noel Kasahe was behind the lens of this photo, which is called "Shadow of Mordor". The shot was filmed in Chile's Torres del Paine National Park, Chile, and hit the top 101.

11. This adorable picture made it to the top 101. Vincenzo Mazza captured a snowy scene in the Vestrahorn Mountains, Iceland. The end result is called "Drawn with Fresh Snow".

12. The village of Imhan-RI in South Korea was the setting for this amazing painting. The shot was shot by Yoon Seok Choi and made it to the top 101. It is called Imhanri Pine Field.

13. Another breathtaking shot that made the shortlist of 101 photos. It was filmed by Marcin Zajak in Yosemite National Park, USA, and shows a "controlled fire" in a forest.

14. Matt Jackish created this mesmerizing photo of Mount Seymour in Canada, British Columbia. He titled the shortlisted image of 101 photos "When the Universe Speaks".

16. Another breathtaking shot of land near Modderghat by Laan, which was also shortlisted for 101.

17. This winter shot, aptly titled "The Enchanted Forest", was taken on the Dams, a rocky ridge in the Peak District in England. It was filmed by Michael Allberry and was selected by the judges as one of the 101 shortlisted.

18. "War of the Worlds" photographed by Nick Green. The picture, taken in Dartmoor National Park, Devon, made the top 101 shortlist.
