After heavy rains, a massive landslide hit a valley in the northeastern province of Badakhshan on Friday morning, destroying about 300 houses. The impact of the elements fell on the settlement of Khobo-Barik. Afghan authorities said more than 2,000 people had died. However, this information was later refuted.
