In Thailand and South Africa, she takes care to protect elephants from poachers and makes prosthetics for animals that step on mines.
Australian veterinarian Chloe Buting, nicknamed "The Doctor from the Jungle", saves elephants around the world: treats them, saves them from poachers and even provides prosthetics for those who stepped on a mine.
Chloe Buting has been helping elephants since 2018. Then she joined a team of veterinarians working in Thailand, near the city of Chiang Mai, where she helped elephants injured by anti-personnel mines, which are often found on the border of Thailand and Myanmar.
Dr. Buting admits that it was very painful for her to watch the suffering of the elephants, but still she was happy and proud that together with a team of like-minded people she was helping the injured animals to achieve a quality of life that without their help the elephants would never have achieved.
Elephants with prosthetic limbs remained in the protected area under the supervision of doctors. When the animals were asleep, doctors removed their prosthetics and provided care for them. In particular, they removed the leather "sock" covering the stump and sprinkled it with talcum powder.
Dr Buting said she only became fully aware of the dangers to elephants later, when she went to South Africa to participate in a program to protect elephants and rhinos from poachers.
Despite this opinion, Buting still works in Africa today, saving animals from poachers.
Segolnya Buting participates in a program to save elephants from poachers in southern Africa. She works as part of a team of specialists on the border of Mozambique and South Africa, moving elephants that are at risk from poachers. According to her, everyone can save the world from an environmental disaster, and for this it is not necessary to go to Africa.
