Kumiko Sano, a 71-year-old resident of Japan, came to Russia for her first World Cup. She supported her country's team at the match with Colombia, which took place on June 19. Grandma even put on her lucky kimono — she wanted Japan to win so much.

Colombia was considered the favorite, so everyone predicted a loss to the Japanese. But from the first minutes of the match it became clear that the battle would not be easy. The removal of a player, a successful penalty kick played by the Japanese team — both the players and the fans of Colombia began to realize that it would be hot at the Mordovia Arena stadium. And in a literal and figurative sense: the thermometer columns that day showed +27.

The first half ended with the score 1:1, the Colombians still hoped to win back. The team of the Land of the Rising Sun did not think to retreat and showed an unquenchable thirst for victory. The result of the game amazed everyone: Japan won with a score of 2:1.

The end of the match was announced, and Sano's happy grandmother and the rest of the fans headed for the exit from the stadium. The fan was genuinely happy for the opposing team and wanted to congratulate the fans instead of grieving over the loss. Kumiko was so touched by this that the woman approached the girl and, moreover, decided to give her her lucky kimono. After that, they took a cute photo together, which has already melted the hearts of hundreds of people around the world.
