By Vika https://pictolic.com/article/inspirations-could-come-from-everywhere-15-cute-illustrations-by-this-logo-designer.htmlGood logos are often minimalistic, but it takes skill and effort to create a simplistic, yet effective and memorable design.
Alfrey Davilla, an Indonesian artist, whose motto is "Simpler is Better", specializes in cute logos and illustrations. To create unique and distinctive designs, Alfrey combines photos of animals, people, and everyday items, some of which represent companies or people's services
Pictolic reached out to Alfrey, who shared how logos came into his life: "I never thought I would become a logo designer. When I was working at the graphic design agency, my job description was to create print designs, like creating company profiles, brochures, annual reports, etc., and I felt they were too complex and tedious. I tried to join a logo contest for a simpler design on an online platform and surprisingly won the prize for the first time. I have thought creating something simpler would fit my personality better than a print design. Since then, I have found my passion to create logos."

Seeing Alfrey’s examples in this post, it becomes apparent that he can turn anything into an adorable logo. Therefore, we asked where the inspiration to create logos comes from.
“Inspirations could come from everywhere. I read many logo books, browse other designers' portfolios, play video games, watch movies, and so on,” shared Alfrey.
He also commented on the cuteness of his logos: “At first, I always focused on creating serious, clean, simple, business-like logos. But when I made cute logos and shared them on social media, the response was tremendous. I remember a logo designer I admire once told me that these illustrative logos could become my specialty as they have different styles compared to others. Since that time, I have liked making cute logos more.”

We were curious whether Alfrey studied to become the incredible artist he is today.
“I majored in Communication Visual Design and graduated with a bachelor of visual communication. However, I learned the most when I worked alone as a freelancer and got real clients. The various requests from clients and the different styles they need really shaped me to become an artist” responded Alfrey.
Alfrey also shared that art is his main source of income. “I support my family through art. I remember buying my first house with my own money as an artist. That feeling was amazing!” wrote Alfrey.

Alfrey has more than 80 thousand followers who admire his work and look forward to his newest creations. Therefore, we were curious about Alfrey’s artistic routine and how often he tends to create new logos.
“My routines always begin with writing some goals for the day, like doing sketches for a logo, revising illustrations, preparing an Instagram post, etc. I primarily seek inspiration online and read logo books to express my creative juices. I can create 3-4 new illustrations a week with this routine,” explained Alfrey.
And lastly, he added: “I always like creating cute and playful art that can make people smile. As a logo designer, I tend to make illustrations that are simple, geometric, and visible on small scales.”
