Incredibly cute baby pangolins that have been around for 80 million years

What are these little lizards? These are pangolins, they are lizards. They have been living on earth for about 80 million years, and they are the only mammals in the world covered with scales. A pangolin's tongue may be longer than its body, and when they sense danger, they secrete an unpleasant-smelling secret, like skunks.

The word "pangolin" is from the Malay "pengguling", which means "to curl up". They are so called because of the habit of curling up in a dangerous situation. Unfortunately, they are so easy to catch. According to various estimates, about 100 thousand pangolins are caught and sold annually. Because of this, all eight varieties of pangolins are included in the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature as an endangered species.
