The famous "black comedy" was filmed in Nizhny Novgorod since October 2004, and for almost a month and a half the population of this Volga city lived filming the film. The nerves of the residents of Nizhny Novgorod passed once: when all foreign cars "younger" than 1995 began to be removed from the city center for the sake of authenticity.
Nizhny Novgorod resident Evgeny Shilov found in his hometown the places where the Balabanov film was shot to show how the footage from the film overlaps with the current reality.
1. Says the author of the project: "The idea came after I saw similar footage from some Hollywood films. But there was nowhere such that a photo was taken according to the plot of the entire film. And I have not seen this in Nizhny Novgorod places either.
I decided to try it — it was still summer, we walked with a girl friend and took the first frame at the Vodnik stadium. I showed it to my friends — many people liked it. I decided to shoot a series of the most recognizable places from the film. I waited for autumn so that our real nature would be more similar to the nature in the film — and went to shoot. First, I watched the whole movie, looked for the most interesting shots — where you can see both the actors and the surrounding landscape, and the action in the frame is interesting, I made printscreens and printed. The whole episode was shot in three days."
