On stage and in the spotlight, ballerinas embody the ideal, grace, they are as focused as possible, their movements are precise and easy. During the dance, they give out a huge amount of energy and emotion in their movements, revealing to us the story and character of the character. Huffington Post photographer Damon Dahlen has been shooting ballerinas for six months in perhaps the most intimate place for every person — in the bedroom. Girls live in New York and dance at the American Ballet Theater and the Dance Theater of Harlem.

Without their suits and pointe shoes, women appear in a completely different light, revealing exactly what makes the bedroom an inviolable refuge.
