Hello, this is Creative Cat. I take pictures, create unusual images, do cosplay, talk about cosmetics, and write about things that inspire me.

Getting good at photographs is not an easy task, requiring some knowledge and experience. For some, artistry and charisma are given from birth, while others have to work hard on themselves. But this is very important. After all, you can’t be horrified every time by how badly you turn out in photographs. This is how I lived most of my life: I looked at joint photos with friends and was simply amazed that everyone looked good, but I looked bad. I never liked myself.

After the very first professional photo shoot, I had to reject almost all the pictures. Because I didn’t even want to look at them, not to mention put them on an avatar or show them to my relatives.

The realization that I was ugly was firmly entrenched in my head. But as the years passed, I gained self-confidence and gained invaluable experience. Now I know exactly what to do in order to always turn out well in photographs. It works even if you don't put on makeup, just leave the house for 10 minutes to drink coffee. And I am ready to pass this knowledge on to you.

I don’t like myself in the photo: 4 rules with which you will always look great in pictures

1. Move a lot

As a rule, people feel constrained in front of the camera. It is easier for them to take one or two comfortable positions in which they look stiff and unsure of themselves. And the photos show it perfectly. In addition, the poses themselves also often raise many questions: the “hands to hips” favorite of all girls look defiant and ugly.

The way out is to move, move and move again. The best solution for posing is to completely relax, act at ease and constantly move. It is enough just to imagine that you are not photographed but filmed. You will not take one pose and stand motionless on the video, will you? Experiment, wave your hair, twist. The photos will turn out lively and interesting, I guarantee that. Yes, and you will look at them as self-confident, and not clamped and notorious.

I have long noticed that all my photos in motion are brighter, more interesting, and more beautiful than static ones. Therefore, I try to move more, although sometimes I freeze in some poses if I have a concept for the finished photo in my head. But that's a completely different story.

2. Smile

I advise you to smile as often as possible, regardless of your mood. After all, a sad face makes us unattractive and repulsive. And the lowered corners of the lips add 10-15 years at once, do we need it?

I clearly see that with my facial structure, puppet wrinkles will overtake me very soon. And this is the main enemy of youth. If, in addition to them, you walk with a dull look and lowered corners of your lips, you can grow old ahead of time.

Smile more often and your pictures will turn out much cooler. Of course, there are ideas and ideas that a smile does not suit, but these are staged photo shoots. When it comes to walking photos, a smile never hurt anyone.

The smile can be quite light, barely perceptible. You can even smile with your eyes alone. The main thing is no dull and tortured face. This is the biggest enemy of all photographs. The face should not be neutral or sad. Do not want to smile with all your teeth - just smile with your eyes. Lift the corners of your lips just a little so that it doesn't even catch your eye.

And so that the smile is not forced, take a friend or girlfriend with you. Let him joke, amuse you and help you relax in the frame. Together is always more fun and easier.

3. Bring your hands into the frame

People often do not understand what to do with their hands in photographs. Because of this, postures such as “arms to the sides” or arms crossed on the chest appear. But with your hands, you can take a lot of interesting pictures.

Adjust your glasses, twist your hair in your hands, pick up a cup of coffee, ice cream, or something else, and touch your lips - there are many options. And here we return to the first point again: do it all in motion, easily and naturally, so that the photos do not look simulated.

Hands in the frame add variety to your photos. You will not stand like a pillar, the pictures will turn out to be more lively and interesting. In addition, with your hands, you can hide some minor flaws or cover up an unfavorable angle. The main thing is to do it easily and unobtrusively. No need to show with all your appearance that you are trying to hide the second chin. It will be eye-catching.

4. And do not forget about the nails: if we bring our hands into the frame, then they must be well-groomed. It is not necessary to run gel polish every month, you can take care of yourself at home: clean, file, trim cuticles and burrs, and cover with transparent varnish.

5. Find your angle

Almost all of us have a working side and a non-working side. There are good angles, and there are just awful ones. Perhaps many of you have seen these videos from tik tok with instant transformation thanks to the angle. First, the girl takes the worst angle, and directs the camera from the bottom up: the second chins climb into the frame, the face seems huge and swollen, and the eyes are small. Then she simply changes the angle, pointing the camera directly at the face or slightly above - and voila. Beauty, without makeup, photoshop, and magic. Just a different angle.

So, what am I to? And this means that each of us can look better or worse, depending on the angle. Absolutely no one looks good when viewed from below. All my older relatives are photographed like this: in the frame, there are solid chins and bags under the eyes. I can't explain what it is. It seems to me that it is much more convenient to hold the hand with the camera directly in front of you than from below.

It also happens that the angle is normal, but it categorically does not suit a person. It's the same with my profile pictures. Just above you saw two profile photos with a cup of coffee - I look good in them, but there are reasons for this. Firstly, glasses that cover the transition from the forehead to the nose (it is ugly for me). Secondly, a cup of coffee casts a small shadow on the chin.

In general, everything worked out in those photos. In other cases, I try to never be photographed in profile, because it really doesn’t suit me.

But as soon as I turn half sideways - and everything changes, I look great, and this is exactly my angle. Everything depends very much on our characteristics, and all this should be taken into account.

6. And do not forget: the main thing is that you like yourself in the photos. People can say what they want. But if you look at yourself and see that you are beautiful, then everything is in order. It doesn't matter what hair, skin, figure, or nose you have. Love yourself and feel confident in every move.
