British Liana Lang is known online for her extraordinary approach to photography. How to shoot near famous monuments with a fair share of humor and creativity? You will find the answer to this question in this issue.
British designer Liana Lang specializes in surrealist photography, playing up her favorite activity and bringing a new meaning to the action. Her photo project "Monumental Delusion" represents complicity with Soviet monuments in the countries of the former socialist camp. Acting against the background of the heroes of bygone times, the girl challenges stereotypical thinking.
All photos were taken in Budapest's Monumental Sculpture Park.
When working on the plot, the girl shows imagination, not afraid to hang at a high altitude, holding the hand of a statue, or climb slippery bronze figures. Creatively interfering with the composition of the monument, she gives it a new perspective.
In one photo, she was almost crushed by a giant's boot, in another she is pressed against the wall, afraid of being knocked down by a crowd of athletes, so she hid at the feet of a giant, and here we see her in the ranks of soldiers.
Thus, Liana, combining scenes of political satire with witty moments of reverie, tried to convey the change of one regime to another, the reassessment of the values of the modern world, the shift of landmarks in consciousness.
