Don't have an ice cream machine? No mixer? No time? Not scary. With this easy recipe, you will make a healthy and delicious sherbet in just 5 minutes (excluding freezing time).
1. Cut the avocado into thin strips and pour generously with lemon juice. This is so that they do not darken, and also so that the sorbet has a special taste.
2. Freeze avocados ahead of time. This can be done 3-4 hours ahead or overnight. This sherbet is flavored with lemon juice, lemon zest and cilantro. You can omit the cilantro if you only want to taste the avocado.
3. In almost any sherbet recipe, corn syrup, water, and sugar are boiled together. But for this sherbet variation, you don't have to. Simply chop the cilantro, prepare the lemon zest, and drizzle with plain or store-bought corn syrup. Set it aside or refrigerate to keep it cold. This will take you 30 seconds.
4. Remove frozen avocados.
5. Pour the syrup over the frozen avocados that will end up in the blender.
6. Prepare the sherbet blank. The texture will be cold and thick due to the frozen avocados. Beat the mixture until it is smooth (this should take a maximum of 3 minutes).
