Now Japanese food is incredibly popular. Sushi bars appear at every turn, rolls and sushi are ordered at home or they are happy to make themselves. But did you know that the process of eating sushi is also regulated by a strict set of rules of etiquette? You can't just throw a roll in your mouth! We offer you the basic rules that you should follow when you go to a sushi bar.
Sushi and rolls should be taken with chopsticks…
...and not stringing them on sticks.
If you don't know how to use chopsticks, you can take sushi with your hands.
If you don't know how to use chopsticks, you can learn!
Be sure to put the chopsticks on a ceramic stand. If you have not been provided with one, make it out of a paper napkin.
Sometimes the sticks, hashi, are not of very good quality. To remove the extra chips from them, they are rubbed against each other.
When you take food from a common plate, do it with the back of the chopsticks.
Don't poke people with chopsticks. However, as well as knives, forks or spoons.
In soy sauce, sushi should be dipped with the side with which the fish is located.
And not the side where the fig is located. The rice is seasoned, and the soy sauce will kill all the flavor.
Don't overdo it with wasabi.
It is not necessary to make soup from wasabi and soy sauce. It kills the delicate taste of the dish.
Sushi and rolls are eaten in one bite. Gaga knows.
Do not put ginger on sushi before eating them. Ginger is eaten between meals to clear the taste buds.
Appreciate the beauty created by the chef. Even in Japan, not all the rules of eating sushi are known, but rule number one: appreciate what you have brought.
Remember this, and your lunch of sushi and rolls will be unforgettable.
Just like this cat.
