How a simple Russian woman Vika became a god in Guatemala

By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/how-a-simple-russian-woman-vika-became-a-god-in-guatemala.htmlHere is a life-affirming story about a brave and active Vika, who went far away to help people.
A few years ago, a new god appeared in a remote village in Guatemala. He hails from Ufa, and his name is Vika.
The God of the Russian woman turned out to be quite fierce and restless. He opens wounds, sets bones, and on occasion can chop off a leg, if necessary. Victims are drawn to Vike from all over Chuinakhtahuyuba — that's the name of the village where the clinic is located.
But there was nothing here a year ago. No building, no medicine.
The hospital was built by the same restless Russian woman. And this is the case when there is an adequate reason to feel proud of Russia. Just do not imagine a girl in a Russian sundress, who hammers nails under Vysotsky with a blond scythe, and takes birth with her hands…
Although in a sense it is.
But still, the construction of a clinic in Guatemala is the result of the work of the official charity organization Health & Help, which is headed by a certified tropicologist Victoria Valikova. Yes, she's wearing a red sundress with a scythe — singing the Russian anthem at the opening of the hospital. Finances were collected from all over the world, the construction itself was carried out by volunteers, and medicines and other consumables are donated on a charitable basis.
Describing the details of this story, it is easy to get into a white spot of perception. Everyone, for example, has heard about starving children in Africa. But it is so far away both geographically and mentally from our usual world that it becomes unreal. Let's admit that the mythical children in the mythical Muyumba are not much different in our minds from the children of Guadeloupe or Guatemala.
You can, of course, tell that in Chuinakhtahuyuba, before the appearance of the clinic, people could not be treated. Generally. Because there is no concept of an ambulance in the country, and there is no money to pay for a car (there is no public transport), a hospital and an overnight stay in the city. You have to come to terms with the death of the baby, you still have five more, and you are 21 — young yourself, you will give birth to more. You will definitely give birth: abortions are prohibited, there are no condoms, they were married at 13 and no one ever asks you if you are in the mood for "this case" today or if your head hurts.
Or we can remind you that the structure of our world significantly reduces the likelihood of getting sick with something. And when you don't have clean water and there are a lot of malicious creatures around, it's easy to catch an unknown ailment. One day to A boy with a swollen eye got into the vic. His mother complained that he had been sleeping and eating poorly for several weeks, and now his eye was swollen.Symptoms of malaise do not carry specifics, but the tumor under the eye suggested Chagas' disease. It is carried by a malicious bug, but it does not get sick from its bite. The bug eats blood until it shits right on the skin. A person rubs the droppings into the bite wound (it itches!) and becomes infected. The parasite living in the bug shit moves into the heart, esophagus and colon. If not diagnosed in time, a person dies from... it's better not to go into details.
In a word, the boy was saved.
It's hard to believe in the reality of all this for a person of the XXI century, who has hot water pouring from the tap, and a toothbrush in the bathroom. And who, it is important, lives in a country where there is some kind of free medicine, where they may not come to a remote village soon, but they will come.
But here is one case that is especially close to the author's world and therefore struck her more than all the others.
Everyone knows what thrush is. 99% of women have encountered this shameful fungus at least once in their lives, which starts in an intimate "space" and turns life into a longing with itching and smell.
A woman comes to Vika who has been suffering from thrush all her life. The diagnosis is made by examination, not by complaints. Because she thinks that's how it should be.
Vika gives her one pill. One damn pill! Because thrush is now treated like this — with one tablet. A couple of days later, a woman came to pray for a white doctor. To pray in all seriousness, because she was given only one pill, and a miracle happened in her life.
Being a god is not that difficult.
Vika did not calm down. Having set up a clinic in Guatemala, she opened a new project to raise funds for a hospital in Nicaragua, where the situation is even worse. And people are the same, made of bones with meat.
Being a god is simple. He is love. By showing love, we become Him. It's very simple. Everyone can become. At any moment.
