HBO showed the first footage of the prequel "Game of Thrones", " House of the Dragon»

Almost a year ago, HBO confirmed that the popular series "Game of Thrones" will have a prequel. Work on the project, called "House of the Dragon", has been underway for several months, and recently its creators shared the first shots from the shooting.

HBO has released three pictures featuring the main actors: Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Evans and Steve Toussaint.

This week, HBO published a photo from the long-awaited prequel of "Game of Thrones" – "House of the Dragon". The pictures showed several central characters of the series, as well as a couple of shots from the shooting, which takes place in England. Fans have learned that one of the central roles in the series will be played by Emma D'Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen), Matt Smith (Damon Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower), Steve Toussaint (Corliss Velarion).

The writers and producers of the series were George R. R. Martin, author of the series of novels "A Song of Ice and Fire", which was based on "Game of Thrones", as well as Ryan Condal and Charmaine De Greyt. Filming for the series began about a month ago in Cornwall, England. "House of the Dragon" will tell about the events 300 years before "Game of Thrones". The plot focuses on the " Dance of the Dragons – - the civil war after the death of King Viserys I Targaryen, and the struggle for the Iron Throne. The series is expected to be released in the spring of 2022.
