Harmless at first glance photos that will make you feel a sense of anxiety

Categories: Photo project

For an article titled "In anxious anticipation" in the issue of the American magazine Kinfolk, dedicated to adrenaline, photographer Aaron Tilly and art director Kyle Bean were asked to recreate that terrible moment when something is about to happen and we have an anxious premonition.

The project highlights a curious connection between what our mind perceives and how our body reacts to it. Fear and a premonition of something bad contribute to the release of adrenaline, even when we know that nothing will happen. It is generally believed that this reaction is closely related to the "fight or flight" mechanism, which for a long time helped our ancestors to survive.

And that's what Aaron Tilly and Kyle Bean did. The photos are specially made to cause a feeling of anxiety, anxiety and discomfort, as if something terrible is about to happen. Well, did these shots affect you?
