But now you can rightfully wear jeans that have not been washed for months, referring to the fact that these are the tips of the world's leading experts. So it is — the largest manufacturers of denim clothing have stated that their clothes do not need washing.

There is no doubt that the CEO of the Levi's brand Chip Berg is a competent person and his opinion is worth listening to. The other day, this respected gentleman said that it is impossible to wash jeans in typewriters, as it damages the fabric. Moreover, any washing of things from this fabric, according to Berg, is just a waste of water. The top manager of the most respected and oldest denim brand in the world claims that he eliminates dirt on his things ... with a toothbrush.

Let this life hack remain on the conscience of a person who probably sees the world from the window of a limousine and may not wash his clothes at all, changing into everything new twice a day. But it seems to us that the average resident of Russia, who has not washed jeans for a year or two, will be forced to clean them at least with a metal brush.

The refusal to wash denim clothes is promoted by another well-known manufacturer - the British company Hiut. Experts of this brand assure that high-quality jeans need to be washed no more than once every six months. The British do not care so much about the durability of things, as about their appearance.

According to Hiut specialists, the folds formed during the wearing of denim items give them individuality. But washing, and even with household chemicals, destroys the charm of this natural ornament, which appeared as a result of our sitting or the habit of carrying a smartphone in your pocket.

After several washes, according to Hiut, the worn places begin to look untidy. It's hard to say what looks untidier — faded creases near the pockets or a thing that hasn't seen washing for 6 months. Maybe the advice applies only to Hiut products created using some special technology that repels dirt and eliminates odors?

By the way, about smells. The company Nudie Jeans, having learned about the recommendations of industry leaders, could not resist commenting and fully supported the idea. At the same time, the manufacturer suggests not to wash jeans for the following reason:

It is absolutely clear that Nudie Jeans is being ironic and does not share the ideas of the luminaries of the denim industry. But there are other opinions, also not quite ordinary. For example, some companies offer to put jeans in the freezer overnight instead of washing to get rid of unpleasant odors, bacteria and fungi. Also, someone suggested that instead of washing, ventilate things by hanging them out in the sun.

All these tips, from the point of view of a neat and fastidious person, sound wild. Although if we are talking about new-fangled "naked" jeans, then maybe they have the right to exist. Why erase something that practically does not exist?
