During the Second World War, the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland were the scene of large-scale military operations of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union. During the war years, a huge number of anti-ship sea mines were laid in the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland. Estonian artist Mati Karmin decided to immortalize these traces of the war with the help of modern art. From old mines, found and fished over a long period of time, he creates exclusive pieces of furniture, ranging from fireplaces to chandeliers.
