Frightening contrast: How to prove the harm of the sun to the skin on the example of one photo

The fact that ultraviolet radiation causes serious damage to our skin has been proven for a long time. But for many, this danger is perceived as abstract and not too obvious. To show that the harm of sunlight to the skin is real, a user of the social network Reddit posted a photo of the foot and hand.

The woman showed in the picture what her foot looks like, which is almost always hidden from direct sunlight and her hand, which is constantly under the influence of ultraviolet light. She signed her picture simply: "The negative effect of the sun on the skin, on the example of my hands and feet."

Some commentators immediately questioned the authenticity of the photo, suggesting that the leg and arm belong to women of different ages. But most, paying attention to the contrast between the skin on the hand and the foot at home, still agreed that such a phenomenon is possible.

A user with the nickname wigg1es said that out of his 35 years, at least 15 he works in the open air every day and his hands look no better than those captured in the picture. There were also those who believe that although the sun ages the skin, there are many other harmful factors besides it.

Also, the skin of the hands is spoiled by constant work in water, interaction with detergents and other chemicals. It negatively affects the skin of the hands and its contact with soil, petroleum products and many other substances that people have to deal with for work or by accident.

The commentators on Reddit were unanimous in one thing — the skin should be protected from direct sunlight and there is no better remedy for this than good sunscreens and moisturizers. This method of protection will not only keep the skin young, but also significantly reduce the risk of melanoma — a dangerous oncological disease.
