Usually girls who throw flowers in front of the bride and groom at weddings are no more than 10 years old. However, the wedding of Josh and Maggie Wakefield, held in Gap (Lancaster County, Pennsylvania) in this sense is an example of an exception to the established rules: in total, two "girls" who covered the path at the ceremony with flower petals were 149 years old.

Joyce, Maggie's grandmother, is 75, and Drew, Josh's grandmother, is 74, but when they were asked to shower the path with flower petals at their grandchildren's wedding, they immediately agreed.

The proposal also became very appropriate because Maggie's father died of cancer back in 2013, so it was very important for the bride to involve both of her father's parents in the ceremony: Ronald, Maggie's grandfather, took his granddaughter to the altar. As you can see from the photos, the wedding day was quite unusual.

"I'm sure Dad is looking down at us from heaven, smiling and laughing, seeing his mother scattering flower petals, and my father leading me to the altar," Maggie said.
