The new is, as you know, the well-forgotten old. That is why car designers are increasingly turning to past experience in an attempt to create, if not very practical, then at least recognizable car.

It is doubtful that such concepts will ever be mass-produced. This is an automotive haute couture, the purpose of which is to outline future landmarks.

1. In 2012, the Swedish design bureau Vizualtech developed a concept (customer name withheld) based on the 1999 Ford Mustang. From Mustang, the new car got the running gear and chassis.

2. The designers were inspired by the image of the first generation Ford Thunderbird: an American legend that was produced from 1955 to 1957. Fans of the model do not call this car Classic Birds for nothing.

3. For the 50th anniversary of the Jaguar E-Type, the designers of this bureau also developed the Growler E 2011 concept based on the Jaguar XKR. There is practically nothing left of the Jaguar XKR.

4. But in Growler E, the features of the Jaguar E Series 3, which was introduced in March 1971 in Geneva, are guessed. The Jaguar E Series 3 was the company's first car to feature a 5.3L V12 engine.

Like it or not, the Prime Minister of Great Britain loved the Jaguar all her life. For more than a decade, a 1972 Jaguar XJ12, 5m high, has been parked at 10 Downing Street.

The similarity is not striking, but still the features of auto aesthetics of the 70s of the last century are quite guessable.
