Fantastic beasts: transparent animals, whose existence is hard to believe

These animals have almost reached invisibility, because the skin many of them transparent. What do they need? As a rule, if the animal is not protected, sharp teeth, toxic secret, and the ability to move very quickly to or small size, he has to resort to disguise. But the best disguise is transparency.

Greta OTO (glass butterfly) is a butterfly of the family nymphalidae. This fish was caught off the coast of Karikari Peninsula on the North island of New Zealand. Experts believe that this is a Salpa Maggiore (Salpa maxima), commonly found in the South seas.

Turritopsis dohrnii otherwise known as the immortal jellyfish. It is kind of small biologically immortal jellyfish that are found in the Mediterranean sea and in the coastal waters of Japan. This is one of the known cases, when an animal is able to fully transform to sexually undeveloped, colonial stage after reaching sexual maturity as single individuals.

Glass frogs of the family Centrolenidae amphibians. The main background color in these frogs is green, but the skin on the belly of some members of this family is transparent. Internal organs, including the heart, liver and intestines are visible through the skin, hence the common name.
