In the second part, Igor Tsaplin needs to be made governor again (even for a third term) despite his professional qualities. And everything is fine, because the brilliant “political technologists” from “Like Radio” are taking up the matter. Only now, in the midst of the election campaign, the candidate disappears.

1. The script for the film was written by Leonid Barats and Rostislav Khait. They were the producers.
“We wrote the script, because we, as the producers of the second film, had no particular complaints about us as screenwriters,” explains Rostislav. “And since we were not his producers, we, as screenwriters, had no complaints about ourselves as producers.”
2. In an interview with the Kommersant newspaper, Barats and Khait admitted that they were going to shoot the third “Men”. However, quite unexpectedly, a man who bought the rights to the first Election Day came to them and offered to shoot a sequel.
3. "Election Day - 2" was filmed at the expense of the Quartet I and the investor who financed the shooting of the first picture. Khait said that the Film Foundation allocated money for the film Faster Than Rabbits, but this time they refused.
4. The film is one of the five most anticipated films of 2016 in Russia.
5. Most of the filming took place in Astrakhan. And the office of Igor Tsaplin is actually the premises of the Astrakhan registry office.
6. The director of the sequel Alexander Barshak assures that Igor Tsaplin is not a direct analogy with any famous personalities. At all.
7. The bridge across the Volga, which will appear in the film, is fake. But they will blow it up for real.
8. There were rumors that his wife Ksenia Sobchak starred in the film together with Maxim Vitorgan. No, it didn't.
9. Most of the jokes in the film were not scripted, but were the result of improvisation by the actors.
10. Comedy can be released in the format of a series.
“We shot a lot more than the hour and a half we were supposed to do. Therefore, we plan to make a four-episode version, which will include more scenes, including those with Astrakhan artists, ”said Barshak, presenting the comedy at a pre-premiere screening in Astrakhan.
