El Ateneo Grand Splendid is the most beautiful bookstore

This is not a simple label that has nothing to do with reality. One of the largest in Latin America bookstores called El Ateneo Grand Splendid is considered one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world and undoubtedly the most beautiful in South America.

This store is in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires. Initially, until the 1920s, the building housed the Teatro Grand Splendid, which took a lot of grandiose speeches. One of the permanent residents of the theater for a long time was Carlos Gardel, who is considered one of the main figures in the making of the tango.

By the middle of the last century, the theatre was replaced by the cinema, which he held until 1991. The Millennium building decided to carry. Thanks to the inspiration of the architects Pero and Torres Armengol the building was turned into a major bookstore and preserved historically valuable architecture and murals of the building.
