Do you like to watch? Why do cats and dogs go to the toilet and bathroom with us

But owners of cats and dogs do not always have this opportunity. Pets just absolutely need to get into the bathroom with the owner and monitor all his actions. What is the reason for this annoying feature of cats and dogs?
Animal lovers argue, what motivates pets in such cases — curiosity or affection? Disputes on this topic in social networks and on zoological forums last endlessly. But scientists have long since uncovered this "secret" and they explain everything simply and logically.
First of all, it must be said that not all animals tend to go to the toilet with a person. The need to keep the owner company there strongly depends on the individual behavior of the animal, as well as to a lesser extent on the size and breed. It should also be noted that this is a completely normal phenomenon, which is not considered a deviation from the norm.
The main reason for joint visits to the toilet is the animal's need for communication. Dogs, being pack animals, prefer to do everything together whenever possible. A person perceived not just as one of the pack, but as its leader, will always be an example for a dog. If you go to the toilet or bathroom and do something there, then the dog will be happy to keep you company. Maybe you need to protect the leader from danger?
It's different with cats. By their nature, they are loners, but a completely different mechanism plays a role here. Cats coexist with people in social groups, as they take them for... parents. This phenomenon is called imprinting and it is peculiar not only to cats, but also to dogs.
If a pet has grown up next to you, then he perceives you as a parent. Therefore, even in adulthood, the cat will accompany you wherever possible. This natural mechanism sometimes works for animals that have entered the house as adults. After some time, an invisible "kinship" relationship is established between him and the owner anyway.
Another reason that cannot be discounted is simple curiosity. Cats and dogs cannot forgive themselves if something happens in the apartment without their participation. We usually close the door in the toilet and bathroom and this intrigues the animal. Cats are also outraged by closed doors, especially if something is being done on the other side.
So gradually we are getting answers from science to questions that have occupied mankind for centuries. Recently, zoopsychologists have told why cats are terrified of cucumbers.
