1. On one of the days of our stay in Salekhard, we went to the tundra to the real Nenets, we didn’t drive for long, a lot of tribal plagues stopped near the city in connection with the upcoming holiday, the day of the reindeer breeder.

Real reindeer herders are harsh and drive only on domestic equipment, of course there are those who prefer imported snowmobiles, but these are already rich people and usually they do not go far from the city to the tundra, if imported equipment breaks down, then it becomes a burden in a nomadic lifestyle , you can’t just fix it, you need to drag it to the service station ...

3. and Buran can be repaired in any situation and under any conditions, to be honest, I thought that they were no longer being produced ... it turned out that they were not only being produced, but new models and modifications were being invented.

Naturally, we didn’t go to the tundra alone, this is a harsh region, and even not far from the city you can easily freeze or get lost, they gave us a guide from the city, a good man, while we were photographing and talking with the owners of the plague, he changed into local clothes and went chopping wood ... here every help is worth its weight in gold.

6. The hospitable Nenets could not help but offer us to dine with them, and we could not refuse, especially on the street it is cold, and in the plague it is warm and cozy ...

7. The food is the simplest, everything that is put on the table, we brought sweets and a waffle cake with us as a gift, they were also put to eat for everyone. From meat, the Nenets, of course, eat venison, raw frozen or boiled, sometimes they shoot a hare or some other game, well, they also catch fish, they eat it more often frozen.

9. After lunch, we went to the pasture to the herd, the pasture is just a tundra, not fenced in anything, located far from the plague, we drove for about 20 minutes, the deer just graze and no one guards them. We asked to catch a deer...

28. It is really difficult to manage reindeer, even experienced reindeer herders sometimes fail, but this one seems to be all right, it rushes like the wind.

At the competitions, of course, we were rooting for Gavrila, but unfortunately he did not win Buran, his team took only third place ... but we wished him not to be upset and he would definitely win the brand new Buran next year.
