Creative charm of military radar

The words "design" and "marketing" were clearly not familiar to the Russian industry until some time. However, times are changing, and now our enterprises can present themselves at least as well as Western ones.

The third international forum "Technologies in mechanical engineering - 2014" ended last Sunday. It was visited by over 80,000 people. The forum was attended by more than 250 companies from the Russian Federation, as well as companies from foreign countries: Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Germany, India, China, the United States of America, France, the Czech Republic and Switzerland.

In this post, we would like to talk about one interesting case that happened on the forum. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia awarded the exposition of the Concern "Radioelectronic Technologies" with the award "For the creative design of the pavilion" and "High quality of product presentation". The case, it is worth noting, is truly exceptional.

Why did KRET receive such an award? Let's get a look.

1. KRET develops and manufactures means of electronic warfare and state identification, measuring devices and electronic connectors, cable products, sophisticated medical equipment, aviation electronics and other very useful, but little-known things to the general public.

2. An airplane or helicopter attracts attention by itself. You don't see that every day, do you? If military equipment attracts attention and contains KRET products, then this equipment will be a showcase for the goods. In the form of layouts, of course, 2D and 3D models. A simple and elegant idea. For example, these flat mock-ups show the location of avionics elements on various types of military equipment. Maybe not entirely realistic, but it is clear where to look for something.

3. These models demonstrate a wide range of various electronic equipment. Between the helicopter and KAMAZ, for example, is the famous Krasukha, a mobile electronic warfare system that suppresses spy satellites, ground-based radars and AWACS aviation systems (Airborne Warning and Control System, AWACS).

4. However, showing is not enough - you also need to tell. For each exhibit or a thematic group of exhibits, multi-touch displays were provided, poke into the icons of which you can get a lot of useful multimedia information, presented in an accessible form even for a non-specialist.

5. In addition to electronic media, live ones were also used, that is, guides and consultants. Here is a girl in a blue dress talking about cable products, and a man with a tie, apparently, is advising the press on the “friend or foe” identification system for KRET personnel, assisted by a mannequin in a helmet.

6. Moreover, KRET provided an opportunity to receive information about the exhibits without looking up from your smartphone. It is enough to download a special application for iOS and Android operating systems, and the entire Concern will be in your gadget. It's nice when you can carry so much information from the exhibition in your pocket. By the way, you can share it, as the application has a function that allows you to send a finished post to social networks.

7. For crowded presentations, the KRET exposition has a huge display. This photo shows how serious guys are studying information about the Concern.

8. If the serious guys need to retire to discuss the contract, then the exposition provides for a cozy meeting room in a corporate style.

9. For the convenience of spectators and customers, everything that is possible is provided. After viewing the exposition, a complete picture of KRET's activities should be formed, and it is taking shape, since the developers and designers were able to summarize and structure information about all the Concern's enterprises and present it in an understandable and digestible form.

10. According to the developers of the exposition, they had to do a huge amount of work. To do this, the chief designer visited 11 enterprises of the concern and collected and systematized data on manufactured products for almost half a year. The most difficult thing was to present various enterprises as a whole; many did not believe it was possible. The main thing was to come up with a single image. Especially for this project, a corporate identity was created, embodied in more than forty media - clothes for stand attendants, stickers for exhibits, multimedia interfaces, and so on. Plus, the exhibition space itself was designed with very interesting architecture and zones.

11. Such a serious and thoughtful approach to the design of the exposition and presentation was not in vain. The award of the Ministry of Industry and Trade confirms this.
