It looks like a scene from an incredible sci-fi movie, but it was created not by Hollywood special effects masters, but by two climbers and a photographer.

4. The area, located three hours east of the city of Bergen, is famous for its large number of icefalls - frozen waterfalls reaching a height of 500 meters or more.

5. With the shooting session planned, the three set about lighting the stage, securely mounting colored spotlights and flashes at strategic points on the ice.

Swinging on safety loops from wall to wall and hanging many complex rope railings, they used more than 700 meters of electrical cable to supply power to the spotlights.

When the climbers took their places, Zenf turned on the light, brightly illuminating the tongues of the icefalls, and took up the camera.

Almost all preparatory work was carried out at night at sub-zero temperatures. Therefore, according to the photographer, the planning had to be flawless.

“Photo and video shooting at night is difficult, so the right lighting determines the success or failure of the entire event,” he said.

Such meticulous planning demanded the full dedication of top-class climbers Arnold and Siegrist.

The pair are the first team to make a winter ascent of Torre Egger, an imposing massif lost among the ice fields of Patagonia, South America.

7. Arnold was born and raised in Biel, a tiny mountain village in central Switzerland, accessible in winter only by cable car.

Stefan Siegrist also grew up in Switzerland, in the Bernese Alps.
