Christophe Guine's wooden nikes: how to breathe plant life into old brands
Categories: Design and Architecture
PictolicFortunately, the world is designed in such a way that the number of cranks in it does not run out. Can you imagine how boring it would be if it were otherwise? And here, you look at wooden sneakers, floral sneakers and a cap made of moss, and the face itself stretches into a smile. The author of all this splendor is the French designer Christophe Guinet, who is also called Monsieur Plant (@monsieur_plant). And why not, because all his offspring are created exclusively from plant materials.
Christophe himself can no longer remember what made him make his first plant installation many years ago. Perhaps it all started in childhood, when a native Parisian Ginet stayed with his grandmother every summer, away from the metro and avenues in a pretty village near the forest.
But at first, crafts made of wood, bark, leaves and moss were just a hobby. From the age of 15, Gine was interested in flora and even collected an excellent collection of orchids. Christophe felt the call to create serious compositions only after a trip to India.
Today, Monsieur Plant is the author of many projects, each of which is interesting in its own way. One of the most striking, which is sometimes considered even Christophe's calling card, was Sneakerium. To create the pieces for this series of works, the designer used his old Nike sneakers, which he turned into the most eco-friendly and strange shoes on the planet.
By the way, skateboards were also not forgotten by the master and in his collection you can see the most unusual models of boards.
On Monsieur Plant's Instagram @monsieur_plant, you can see even more amazing things born of his extraordinary imagination. In addition to the mischievous Frenchman, there are many interesting creative people in the world who never cease to amaze us with their masterpieces.
