In February 2018, the younger brother of Canadian Hilton Patton committed suicide. After his death, the guy sheltered two Bengali cats, in which his brother doted.
Hilton decided to do something special in honor of his dead brother, connected with his cats, and he came up with the idea to redo an empty basement. He put all his money, energy and time into this idea, leaving his job. But this case became his outlet, which allowed him to distract himself from his longing at least a little.
As the guy admits, he had no experience in repairs, but the desire to do something for his brother was stronger. Hilton completely remodeled and equipped the room with his own hands — somewhere asking for help from friends, and only a couple of times resorting to the services of professionals - when building partitions and laying the coating.

The basement at the initial stage of alteration is the wiring of electricity.

Construction of plasterboard partitions.

Ready-made partitions.

Alteration of the ceiling.

Four speakers have been built into the ceiling (from which the kittens will listen to the sounds of the jungle).

On the ceiling, the guy decided to make a portrait of LEDs.

A portrait of someone he loved so much.

The result of a "stellar" ceiling.

Then he hung shelves of different lengths on the walls.

Carpet covering of the walls.

Almost done!

Artificial turf was laid on the floor "under the lawn".

A cat corner for privacy.

An air purifier to get rid of odors.

All the shelves are carpeted, the room is furnished with scratching posts and other jungle—style things for cats - what is not a cat's paradise?

Finally, the basement was ready to welcome its rightful owners.

Benji and Nala immediately appreciated their new home.

Such expanse!
