Burlesque - Before and after
Categories: World
By Pictolic https://pictolic.com/article/burlesque-before-and-after.htmlFashion photography, like fashion itself, revolves around disguise, and Brooklyn-based photographer Van Sarkey knows firsthand what it is. Over the course of his career, he has re-photographed many outstanding personalities: a dark background, a little dim lighting, a photo only up to the bust - all these photographs are united by a common concept, but they are all different and unique in their own way. For his latest project, Sarki made a series of portraits of burlesque and cabaret artists, and all the photos are divided in two: on the left, the artist without makeup, on the right, ready to go on stage. Moreover, often in the photo on the right we see much more self-confident people. They seem to transform, putting on the "mask" of their fictional character.
