In this regard, Olympic athletes are not much different from ordinary mortals — many people mark their participation in the Games with drawings on their bodies.
Among the famous and tattooed Olympians is the bronze medalist in diving Tom Daly. A tattoo in the form of five Olympic rings appeared on the athlete's body after the London Games in 2012.
Some depict the symbols of their native country. For example, American wrestler Jordan Burrows, who combined the Olympic emblem with elements of the national flag.
References to the Rio Olympics are also already flashing on sports bodies. South African footballer Janine van Wyck stuffed the famous statue of Christ on her arm.
And gymnast from Iceland Irina Sazonova left a long-standing reminder of the Games on the back of her head.
Canadian athlete Sinead Russell stuffed an elegant Olympic Games emblem wrapped in a wave on her hip, obviously hinting at swimming.

Often tattoos on the body of athletes cause controversy. Paralympian Joseph Craig was disqualified at the European Championships. And he was not allowed to swim until the athlete hid the drawing.
Tattoos are filled not only by athletes. This is a photo of a drawing on the hand of one of the torchbearers of the Sochi 2014 Olympics.
